Sleepless in Seattle

Well, not totally sleepless. Natalie took her first plane ride to Seattle last week to see Uncle Shane walk in Seattle University's law school graduation ceremony. She did superbly on the plane like we knew she would. She was such a trooper about going along with whatever we were doing and getting in naps when she could. We had a fun time seeing Shane and Jen again and Natalie really enjoyed meeting Aunt Jennie for the first time. The trip was only five days and seemed to go by too quickly. George and Julie drove up with our borrowed car seat and the pack n play so we didn't have to lug that in the airport thankfully. Like always, I was amazed at the beautiful color and greenery of Seattle's foliage. It made coming back to "Colorful Colorado" seem insufficient. We were lucky to be there during a week of record breaking heat. Only our last day there did it rain a little. Some highlights of the trip:
  • seeing Shane graduate (although, we were so excited yelling for him as he walked across the stage, most of us forgot to actually look at him when he went across! Haha!)
  • seeing Shane's school
  • trying out new (and sometimes exotic, at least to us) and healthy vegetarian dishes
  • visiting Dr. Daniels (Aunt Jennie) at the clinic
  • taking walks (and getting exercise!) up and down Seattle's streets
  • getting cupcakes almost every day at the cupcake shop
  • adventuring into more vegetables! We ate fried fern!
  • hanging out with family

Are pictures over yet?

Congrats to Shane! And to you and Dusty for taking Natalie on her first airplane! My favorite picture is where Jen and Shane adoring Natalie in the hammock.
