Throwing Signs

Natalie created her sign all on her own.  You are so creative!
"Natalie!"

Snow Days

It's snowing today.

Yes, it is the middle of April and it has been snowing non-stop for three days!

Yes, we've been stuck in the house for three days.

Yes, we have not worn anything but jammies for three days.

And yes, we've been going crazy for three days.

Here are a couple of pics from the last three days.  It's been so lovely to watch but I am ready for warm sunshine!

Day 1

You can still see the balcony.

Day 2

More snow on the upper deck.  The little slide is buried half way.

Decided to let the girls go out and play.  Sabrina didn't want to get her gear on.  It's a little big still and makes it even harder to maneuver in the snow.

Look what I can do.

I want to try that too!

Let's knock it down!

Two of my snow angels.

Day 3

It's hard to tell but there is at least a foot of snow on the second story deck.

Oh, Dusty has shoveled this driveway so many times and the snow keeps falling.
*Update:  Over 20 inches of snow accumulation.

One of our indoor activities.  Got the idea from a friend who saw it on Pinterest.  Easy clean-up.  YES!

We drank warm chai and ate oreos too.

We used q-tips for pens.  Maggie has started writing her M. : )

Quote from today:

N: (After hearing Maggie's made-up song) Hey Maggie, you should go on The Voice and see if any of them turn their chairs around for you.

M: Yeah, I know.

N: And if they do it will surely change your life.

Oh!  I almost forgot to mention that I get to leave this snowy place tomorrow to visit Marn (sans kids) in warm New Orleans for the weekend.  I'm so excited!  I'm in need of a mommy break, warm weather, and an opportunity to get dressed for the day. ; )

Marn came to the Fort in early November last year to see us.  We love Auntie!

All in the Family

Hanging out together while Mom takes a shower.

All in the family:  Three ladies and Dusty's beloved Sweet Potato, 30 years old.

Dresses

At 5 and 3 1/2, all that N and M want to wear are dresses with tights.  Skirts or leggings are not good enough.  Pants, no way.  Fancy shoes are for any occasion, even playing in the backyard (of course I don't always allow them to have their own way.)

Maggie has communicated that she only looks pretty if she is wearing a dress so we have been trying to affirm her that she looks lovely no matter what she wears and focusing more on character.

She is driving me bananas because she also likes to change her outfits at least three times a day!  As if I don't already feel like I can't keep up with the laundry!

But I do love to see all three of their faces beam when they come twirl before us to show off their dresses.  Each girl is so unique and beautiful and special to us.  Thank you, God, for blessing us with our three princesses.

Easter Weekend in BV 2013

Egg Hunt

 An afternoon in Salida.

Sometimes she rests her chin on Dusty's head.

Easter Sunday

The girls could not wait to wear their fancy dresses.
She calls this her wedding dress.

We called her Princess Maggie and she loved it and started introducing herself to people at church as such.   Oops. : )

Barely out of the drive way on the way home.  Worn out from a fun weekend.

Happy Easter!
