The girls have been smitten with Sabrina since day one of meeting her.

Natalie loves to talk to her and sing to her and is second only to Mama in winning smiles from Sabrina.
(the gash on Natalie's head is from a spill she took on some rocks at Grandma and Grandpa's house.)
Maggie is a little mama. She is constantly kissing Sabrina, asking to "HOLD BABY!" a million times a day, alerting us to crying and spit up, and asking "Where baby?" every time she is absent from the room. She cannot say Sabrina although she may think she is saying her name when she calls her baby. One day Dusty was trying to get her to say Sabrina.
D: Maggie, say Sabrina.
M: Baby.
Then he tried to break it up by syllables and say it slowly.
D: Maggie, say Suh.
M: Suh.
D: Bree-nuh.
In deep concentration, pressing her lips together to make the B sound, she slowly and matter-of-factly said: Bay-bee.
Ah, Maggie. You and your "Baby" will be great friends one day.
Backing up a bit. The girls didn't get to meet Sabrina until four days after she was born. In fact, they didn't even know about her. We made plans with Dusty's parents to come and take them to BV for a few days when we went into labor so that we could rest and have a "honeymoon" period with just Sabrina. However, I didn't want them to think that they were being sent away because of the new baby so I asked that the girls not be told that the baby was here. They knew the baby was coming soon but that we didn't know what day. Conveniently, Natalie had been asking to have a weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house again (something they had done a couple of times already over the summer) and I simply told her that we would call them 'soon' to ask if she could go. So it was completely normal when they showed up in the morning to surprise them by picking them up for a 'weekend' at Grandma and Grandpa's. Well, almost normal. The night I went into labor our dear friend, Jessica, came over to stay with the girls until Dusty's parents could get here the next morning. So when girls woke up, Miss Jessica was there, with Grandma and Grandpa, and Papa, but no Mama. Dusty had gone home to help transfer carseats and get them on their way (I had everything packed and ready, of course). He told them that I was at a baby appointment, a common occurrence, and so they bought it. They had a great weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's and had a wonderful surprise awaiting them at home (Guess what happened while you were at Grandma and Grandpa's?!?--the baby decided to come!) : )
We missed them so much while they were gone but also enjoyed the time alone with Sabrina. When the girls got home, we told them that we had a surprise for them upstairs. The following video is of them seeing Sabrina for the first time:
P.S. Annie is the girl name that Natalie had picked for the baby. Knowing that Sabrina was our choice, I told Natalie that if we didn't name the baby Annie that she could name one of her baby dolls that name. She was satisfied with that. Also, she inquires about the "booger cloth" on the bassinet. I retired the burp cloths after Maggie got older into snot cloths when the girls were sick, hence "what's the baby doing with my booger cloth?" : ) (Don't worry, I cleaned them well)
Thankfully, Sabrina is doing a good job with putting up with her big sisters. We are enjoying our three princesses and look forward to seeing them grow in love and friendship with each other. (Can you tell who insists on holding her the most?)
September 2: one week old.

So precious! They just took to her immediately. The video is priceless.
Love the last pic, too. Sabrina will not be short of attention.:)
Ashely... they are all so precious! Maybe we can all see each other at Christmastime! Congratulations!
