Celebrating Sabrina

She's two!

It's hard to believe.  And while I know that she appears to be under-represented on the blog, she is not lacking in baby pictures and love.  I just struggle to keep up with life through the blog.

Where has time gone?

Who is this sweet, little peanut weighing in at just 24 pounds, you ask?

Hilarious, descriptive, and easy-going.

One word stands out:  hilarious.  The family jokester.  She's always doing something silly or making a funny face or giving us 'sideways' eyes with a funny pucker.  Our most vocal baby, always singing out loud, talking to someone on her play phone, or reading out loud.  Although she appears to be a lightweight, she is a great eater.  Like her sister, Maggie, she is often at our feet asking for "foodie."
She is a wonderful sleeper still.  She goes down for her afternoon nap like a piece of pie and sleeps for 2+ hours and goes down for bed at 7:30p and sleeps until 7 or 7:30a.  She has been such an easy going baby for us.  One example is that we can push her past her bedtime with no pressure of having a fussy, difficult baby for special occasions like hanging out with friends or going to a drive-in movie.  She rarely fusses and is simply a pretty easy-going kid.

She's been our earliest and best talker but has communicated eloquently with us by charades before she even had words.  We love to experience what happened through her animated play by plays.

She recently went through three big milestones:  moving out of the crib, weaning from the pacifier, and potty training.  Going to the toddler bed was so easy and she diligently obeys staying in her bed so well that she will only call for us until we come in and get her.  She is doing awesome with potty training.  She rarely has accidents and is pretty proud that she can get herself on the downstairs toilet unassisted.  The pacifier was by far the hardest thing and it was an intense few days that felt like forever to Dusty and me.  But as fiery as it started, it quickly cooled off and she no longer looks to it for comfort.  Thank goodness we still have the beloved lovey ("bwovey".)

She loves:
being chased and tickled and says "Met Me" (get me)
being read to
being rocked in our arms at bedtime
being carried around
Singing VBS songs and doing the movements
cheese
scrambled eggs
babies (obsessed--she points them out everywhere we go)
purses and talking on the phone

Here are some pics from her birthday:

Donuts and eggs for breakfast!

She and Maggie helped make her strawberry cake.

Natalie had school so we waited until the afternoon to open presents.

We had a fun day of playing and celebrating this sweet, baby sister.  We ate at Chipotle for dinner, one of Sabrina's favorite places to eat.  You are such a fun kid and we can't wait to see who you will become!
