All in the Family
Dresses
At 5 and 3 1/2, all that N and M want to wear are dresses with tights. Skirts or leggings are not good enough. Pants, no way. Fancy shoes are for any occasion, even playing in the backyard (of course I don't always allow them to have their own way.)
Maggie has communicated that she only looks pretty if she is wearing a dress so we have been trying to affirm her that she looks lovely no matter what she wears and focusing more on character.
She is driving me bananas because she also likes to change her outfits at least three times a day! As if I don't already feel like I can't keep up with the laundry!
But I do love to see all three of their faces beam when they come twirl before us to show off their dresses. Each girl is so unique and beautiful and special to us. Thank you, God, for blessing us with our three princesses.

A Fairly Typical Morning
It's Saturday morning and snowing a little outside but that doesn't stop my ballerinas from wanting to put on leotards. I want soft pants and warm drinks but they need tutus (and leg warmers per mom.)

N and M's Room
| Maggie's Big Girl Bed February 12, 2012 2 1/2 years old |
Although she looks quite solemn here, she was very excited to have a big girl twin bed just like Natalie. I just really like this picture of her that Dusty took with her name fuzzy in the background. Perhaps she is thinking about what her future in a big bed with hold. We bought Natalie's twin bed set from a friend of mine and later purchased a new mattress for Mags after we found a simple metal frame and boxspring in like-new condition off of Craigslist. The bedding I got on sale from Company Kids and sheets from Target.
Dusty and I painted their room before we moved in. It was white, like every other wall in the house. Dusty made a chair rail for it. I wanted to pick colors that the girls both loved, yellow and purple, but liked this combo I matched from Martha's paint combos. I did decide to paint the girls' names in their favorite colors though.

The room isn't complete just yet. I'm still looking for a mirror for above the dresser and for something else on the "name wall." I also need to update the picture frames. The dresser we got from Dusty's parents and the lamp is from TJMax.
I have finally found white curtains for their room although I didn't have them at the time this pic was taken. I love the picture of the two sisters in the back. It says trust in me on it. When I look at it, it is my hope that the girls would be great friends and have a loving, trusting relationship.
There are great conversations to be shared in this room.
Will there be a third roommate one day? We'll see.

Snow Day
We have about a foot of snow so far. Let's get bundled up!
The girls are outside, the baby is sleeping, and I'm cleaning the kitchen.
Wheeeeeeee!
Let's clear the slide!
Snow angel.
Mags tries to make a snow angel but is not quite getting it.
Snow castles.
45 minutes later we need hot chocolate and snowmen marshmallows!
Yum!
It's so fitting that Mags is wearing her snowmen jammies.
Happy Snow Day and stay warm!

Scarves
We're into wearing Mama's scarves these days.
And taking pictures with our heads smashed together. : )

Dresses
Our Natalie loves to wear dresses. We went to church tonight and she excitedly picked this one out by herself.
I added some twists in her hair...
and voila! "I look like a princess."
Indeed you are, Natalie. A daughter of the King. Fearfully and wonderfully made.
