Celebrating the 4th

I started the day with a morning run with my friend.  Dusty made his prize winning apple pie with a little help from the girls.  After Sabrina's morning nap, we loaded the crew up and walked to the community pool down the street and spent the afternoon there.

The girls went "fishing", put tattoos on their arms, played water balloon toss, ate hotdogs, and of course played in the pool.

Shouting: "Happy 4th of July!"

Unfortunately Dusty's pie lost to a chocolate hazelnut pie.  It was good, and it's hard to beat chocolate, but I think his pie should have won.  He makes a mean apple pie!

We came home for naps and then made Martha's 4th of July cupcakes.

We delivered some to our neighbors and then went to Big Al's for dinner in Old Town.  Unfortunately there is no fireworks show this year because of the fire risk.  We'll miss biking to the intramural fields to watch but none-the-less we had a fun day and our thankful for the freedom we have in this country.

Happy 4th of July!
