Well, we made it to Maggie's second birthday without the baby coming on her special day and without a trip to the ER to date, although we are convinced that Mags will be our first. We actually celebrated her birthday a day before so that Papa could spend the whole day with us. We started off with purple (Maggie's fav color) pancakes and eggs. My camera wasn't working right so the picture didn't turn out well.
Being sung "Happy Birthday" as she is coming down to find her presents post breakfast.
Haha, out of all the present the $1.00 mylar balloons were a big hit. Mama and Papa got her a high chair for her babies. Maggie is such a little mama. She loves to care for her baby dolls and adores real babies. I'm sure she will be a great big sister.
Natalie and I went to the children's store in Old Town for her to pick out a present for Maggie. She gave her a rolling pin and a baby bottle that makes slurping sounds. Maggie loves the bottle.
Both girls admiring a new baby from Grandma and Grandpa Hobbs.
Natalie being a patient big sister as Maggie was all about "me" and "mine" toys.
The balloons that Natalie helped pick out...
She made sure to include a yellow one for herself. : )
That morning we played and then headed to the pool down the street from us--a fav activity of the girls. I didn't take my camera because it's too risky to look away from Mags. When she's ready to jump, she does, whether you know she's ready or not. We had a great time and took great naps afterwards.
For birthday dinner, we went to one of Maggie's favorite places to eat: Chipotle.
And followed it up by our new favorite place in the Fort to get ice cream: Pioneer. We normally all share two cones but Maggie and Natalie got to have their very own chocolate dipped sprinkle cones. Ironically, she wanted to eat off of mine for a bit until I gave in with one bite and then told her to eat her own.
We ended up putting the ice cream in a cup so it wouldn't fall off. Maggie ate her cone first...
And then drank her ice cream (soup) later.
Messy, happy, and two.
Maggie, you are feisty
confusing
hilarious
stubborn
nurturing
pushing sister's buttons one minute
generous the next
intelligent
clumsy
daring
a wonderful sleeper
a talker
a lover of food
a fireball.
You are hot and cold
sweet and sour.
We never know what to expect from you.
In the words of Olivia the pig, "You really wear me out, but I love you anyway!"
Happy Birthday, sweet girl. God has given us so much through you.
